Many churches have claimed that they are “not political,” “neither left nor right,” etc. The guiding assumption of those statements is that politics and morality do not overlap. But is that assumption true? Let's see👇 @AmReformer americanreformer.org/2026/03/do-pol…

“We all know the feminist story. In the beginning, life was patriarchy… Then feminism brought about today’s glorious vision of womanhood: birth control and cubicles!… Lead tells a different tale, ultimately informed by an alternative vision: womanhood after feminism. @scottyenor reviews @emlwaters americanreformer.org/2026/03/women-…

"I found [Moore's] work riddled with anti-working-class bigotry, aspersions against the salvation of blue-collar Christians, and the vilest upper-middle-class superiority complex that I have ever seen outside of a university graduate seminar classroom." americanreformer.org/2026/03/the-vi…

This is a really good follow up/extension of my ethic of civility essay from Benjamin Mabry: “The Ethic of Civility is a signifier of a major social fissure in Evangelical culture along the lines of social class.” @AmReformer americanreformer.org/2026/03/the-vi…

Against Theological Triage americanreformer.org/2026/03/agains… via @amreformer This article by Chris Bolt echoes many of my own ponderings about “theological triage.” In the Presbyterian tradition (my tradition), those things essential to the faith are the true preaching of the Word (in adherence to the Scriptures as articulated through the creeds) and the proper administration of the sacraments. That first category assumes the content of the Scriptures and the creeds. However, almost always, that second category is seen as non-essential, “non-first-tier.” I find myself often wondering whether our protestant forefathers would agree with the thinner conception of communion we have developed. It doesn't mean we can't be friendly to those we disagree with, but we ought to retain the distinctness of our individual traditions. Blurry lines kill traditions; keep the lines sharp, keep them honest, but make friends within and without your tradition. Good thoughts here by Chris Bolt.

Reading Marvin Olasky genuflect to the woke mob over publishing an article by a Trump-supporting Hispanic pastor, I was reminded of last year when Wheaton College caved to leftist pressure after they congratulated @russvought for his appointment in the Trump administration. It's the same story every time: 1) The Spark: Normal innocuous action (in this case publishing a Trump supporting pastor) 2) "Victims" express hurt and Advocates express concern and anger. 3) Respectables (like Olasky) are gaslit, steered, and cave to the pressure, apologizing for their insensitivity and promising to "do better."

The is so good. "[For French,] the basis of support for a Christian public figure is not their policies or accomplishments but how meekly and mildly they contend for them."

Sufficient critique of James Talarico has been made by @RedemTheTimes, & sufficient rebuke of David French for praising Talarico by @albertmohler, but what hasn’t been explained is *why* French likes him. For that you must understand the ethic of civility americanreformer.org/2026/03/the-et…

A home run from @tlloydcline, who lays bare David French's civility schtick. "They might be a woke, abortionist who claims God is a nonbinary hermaphrodite so long as they do it civilly." americanreformer.org/2026/03/the-et…

“The person with a guilty conscience finds in triage a ready instrument, not for honest theological engagement, but for dismissing pushback against his position as the belligerence of a lesser mind.” Excellent read; @AmReformer @clbolt

"The framework is not drawn from Scripture but imposed on it; it defeats itself when subjected to its own criteria, it cannot bear the weight placed on it, and in practice, it has functioned less as a tool of maturity than as a mechanism for accommodating theological drift." americanreformer.org/2026/03/agains…

Why has their been leftward drift in the Southern Baptist Convention *after* the Conservative Resurgence? Read @clbolt's new essay @AmReformer to find out. His critique of theological triage puts his finger on something Southern Baptists need to consider. americanreformer.org/2026/03/agains…

What is theological triage? @clbolt lays out what it is and how it has been applied since coming on the scene. He also makes his case for why it is not as useful as it seems. Take a look at his full article in the reply.

Worth your time as you try to understand what ideas have pulled French, Moore, ERLC, etc., in the same direction.
