@KillaKreww Kevin, is taxing 40% of someone’s income earned from selling their time also un-American? What about making the sale price of an item more expensive via a tax?

Kevin O’Leary, who’s estimated to have a $400 Million net worth, got MAD at podcast hosts Graham & Jack after they suggested that there should be a wealth tax, explaining that people like Elon Musk deserve everything they get 😮👀 “You’re going to hell for saying that… It’s unamerican, it will destroy the fabric of the economy”

60% of Iran's doctors are women, while the USA has only 35%. But there's one field where USA has more females and Iran has Zero. Guess which one?

@LukeGromen @adamscrabble So maybe China is the one ordering the endless wars. There is no rule that a military surrender needs to be advertised to its citizens. Could just be a signature on a contract.

Replacing income tax with sales tax is a scam. Take Missouri for example. Their proposal would cost middle class Missourians an extra $535 a year. But the richest 1% of Missourians would get a $40,000 tax break. See the problem?

@WallStreetApes This proves that uber isnt a matching algorithm between supply and demand but an arbitrage mechanism to maximally extract consumer and producer surplus.

Michigan Senator Mallory McMorrow reveals companies are using dynamic algorithmic pricing to charge Americans more based on your data She says this is even being used to increase rents - A $240 flight to Florida increased to $423 because you looked twice - Uber pricing doubled because phone battery was below 20% “Usually it's about 18 bucks, but oh, the app knows that your phone battery is low, so it's double the price. Companies are using algorithmic pricing tools to study your personal data and charge you exactly what they think you'll pay. This is called surveillance pricing, and it means that companies can charge you completely different prices for the exact same thing, and it's not just happening to consumers. Some companies are now using similar algorithms to track workers and decide their wages, hours, and schedules, even their locations — My plan bans companies from setting personalized prices based on your data — It protects all workers, including gig workers and contractors from algorithmic wage discrimination, and it cracks down on companies using these systems to coordinate things like higher rents and insurance premiums, because the economy shouldn't be a rigged game.”

I share about 100 yards of drive way with my ~70yr old neighbors. For some reason he’s obsessed with knocking down the center grass in the middle of the tire ruts and covering it with gravel. He talks about it all the time, probably 30% of all conversations I have with him are about this. He’s asking if I want to pitch in for more gravel, etc. When I put my parents in a guest house behind the barn, my dad started talking about it too. He got some roundup and sprayed his section of road. Am I missing something here? I see no problem with it. It looks fine. It occupies 0% of my mind. I’m prepared to spend 0 dollars to remedy this “problem” What is happening?

@iamNeare They use regulatory capture to prevent new entrants. It is not a technical hurdle. It is an environmental pollution question. Which is why the US doesn’t and can’t do heavy industry. The neighbors have the right to restrict pollution.

General William Westmoreland, the American commander in Vietnam, said that Asians do not value human life the way Westerners do. He said this to explain why Vietnamese soldiers kept fighting despite losses that would have broken Western armies. He did not say: perhaps they are fighting for something worth dying for. He did not say: perhaps our intelligence about their will to fight was wrong. He did not say: perhaps we have fundamentally misunderstood this enemy. He said: they don't value life. This is what happens when an army built on the premise of its own civilizational superiority meets a people who simply refuse to accept that premise. The army cannot update its model. It cannot say "we were wrong about who these people are." So it invents a theory where the enemy's resistance is not a sign of strength but a sign of deficiency. They keep fighting because life is cheap to them. Not because their cause is just. Not because they are brave. Because they are less than us. Westmoreland ran the war for years on this theory. He lost. The Vietnamese people, who apparently did not value life, built a country that is alive and growing and free. Westmoreland died in 2005. The people he could not understand are still here. So is the theory.

@avalari2 @MorEdge_Insight So people receive interest from holding bonds, but many more actually receive principle in the form of borrowed money (the us spends $6 trillion on $4 trillion of tax revenues.) so yes much of that spending is political grift rather than attached to merits or skills.

@AmStonecraft @MorEdge_Insight In addition a quiet trade is made where the interest receiver’s skills to make money deteriorate and they become addicted to interest, deepening the cycle of enslavement.

@MorEdge_Insight Fucking nonesense. First of all, 8% is pretty low considering that the principal stays the same, 96k per year is nothing after time passes and reduces it in real terms. Second of all, US Treasury debt is repayable and is not a perpetual bond. Wtf are you smoking really?

@MorEdge_Insight No one should ever be able to make money off selling money, that’s that simple. You can sell anything else, any product or service, but you can not sell money. Doing so will always lead to enslavement.

@MorEdge_Insight Just one correction.. "They" Do not pay interest The poor pay the interest because the poor have to work to pay their bills, and income tax is a poor tax And the more you try to save money with overtime, the more poor tax you pay And not just on the extra money but on everything

In Ukraine, military recruiters tried to grab a guy off the street. Used pepper spray on an elderly man who stepped in. Then another older guy pulled up in a truck with a crowbar and went after them. The kid got away When recruiters are getting chased off by grandpas with crowbars, you know the country has had enough

In January, Trump signed Executive Order 14380, placing harsh tariffs on any country caught "directly or indirectly" supplying oil to Cuba. In February, when a Greek flagged tanker tried to bring 80,000 barrels from Colombia to Cuba, the US Coast Guard intercepted it, forcing the ship to sail to the Dominican Republic. In March, when the US sought to stabilize oil prices after starting a war with Iran, OFAC issued waivers for Russian crude. As Russian tankers approached the island, the US placed Cuba on a tiny list of countries it said were *still* not allowed to buy Russian oil. Two ships which were en route changed course under pressure. If we had actual journalists, instead of the brainless morons seen smiling and nodding below, they would have pointed this out to Rubio.
Department of State@StateDept

SECRETARY RUBIO: The reason why Cuba doesn’t have oil or fuel is because they want it for free. Cuba is a disaster because their economic system doesn't work.
