The people of Kenya will not let their sacrifice be hijacked by politicians. The political class should keep off. It’s the people who demanded #RejectFinanceBill2024. That demand led to abductions, arrests, beatings, gunshots and deaths. Our fallen heroes are in still the morgues

Once again, I implore President William Ruto to show humility in leadership & show empathy to those killed & maimed by Police yesterday. In his main speech today, he didn’t speak about those killed, injured or arrested but instead dwelt only on the Finance Bill & what Kenya will miss because of it. The Bible is clear that material things are vanity. Life however lost must be regrettable & mourned. It was only until asked a question by the TV47 Journalist that he said “ONLY SIX DIED” & without showing remorse. A President is the embodiment of national values, ethos, ethics & religion. The President must lead the Nation in grieving for those killed, assist their families, and pay bills for those injured. And release all those arrested. It has taken Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in his countermanding speech an hour later to lead the Nation in mourning the dead, commiserating with the families, calling that no one should be arrested for dissenting views & that the demonstrations were constitutional. Advisers around the President are so material & without human empathy. When over 21 young people are killed & over 300 injured with bullets, it is time for any Nation to grieve. President William Ruto has to see what other leaders have done when their people are killed. In Italy, the killing of one protestor who was actually throwing stones at Police in 2018, the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte led the Country in mourning him. You don’t blame a dead persons for he can’t defend himself. I pray that the President will understand he is the father of all, and in a family, we have the bad and the good. All are children of the Father.
