@Eurostar a massive thank you to Mark and Siobhan at Eurostar Travel Services at St Pancras for their help this morning. And to the unknown passenger who gave my computer to Guillaume the Eurostar worker, who took my computer to Brussels, and back to St Pancras. Apple Find My- 🙌

Zoe is mother to a young woman with Autism. Court of Protection proceedings were launched without her knowledge and deliberately excluding her ("ex parte" meaning without notice to her than that hearings were taken place, so "closed" to her + observers). Awful. Unjust.

#ExParteFlightRiskJustice. ex parte flight risk that’s what they called it not just legal terms to me those words took my voice, and my daughter’s, for six months flight risk that was the reason they used to hold hearings without me to leave me out completely

@Eurostar can you tell me the address of your lost property / left luggage at Brussels please? I have left something on a train and I need that exact address. Or the street where a train stays overnight as the train is not returning to St Pancras

I am Zoe James, known as ZJ. If you have read the blog by Celia Kitzinger about what happened to us, you will already know part of our story. If you haven’t, here is a brief recap. I made a complaint about a psychologist, about their behaviour and professional conduct.

We wrote this piece about our sister Polly 15 years ago. It's hard to imagine a judge today making the decision to order ongoing life-sustaining treatment contrary to a PDoC patient's wishes. Polly still lives with the consequences of that decision. thehastingscenter.org/m-polly-and-th…

#WhenDidThisBecomeOkay? When did someone not having capacity become the reason to rip a family to shreds? To drag them through the most awful experiences, to hold their past trauma up like evidence in a courtroom, used like a prosecutor would, when their only crime

"In my experience, there is an unbridgeable gulf between the fine words and noble theory of open justice and the on-the-ground reality. And what that means, in the end, is a lack of confidence in the judiciary and in the justice system." - @KitzingerCelia hits nail on head

For 6 months, the COP kept proceedings ex parte (secret) from ZJ, mother of a young autistic woman living at home. The published judgment (Hywel Dda v P [2024] EWCOP 70) has 'findings' the judge corrected in a later unpublished decision. ZJ is speaking back. Please listen.

#ATrialWithoutAVoice Are you one of those people who believes in justice? I used to believe. Justice was something good. The bad people got caught, punished. Good people weren’t hurt. I used to believe all justice was good.

Priorities have been exposed. They were not with the vulnerable young people. They were with reputation. With hierarchy. With self protection. That is the disgrace.

#thesystemisbroken The system is broken. When parents raise legitimate concerns about a psychologist’s conduct, and the response is to silence, dismiss, and undermine them, the system is not protecting people. It’s protecting itself. And it’s protecting the wrong people.

It would be almost comical if it wasn’t so utterly tragic. Court records, police records, public interest journalism - what else will we sacrifice in the name of data protection? Or will someone find a way to end this madness…..
Fiona Hamilton@Fhamiltontimes

Extraordinary evidence at public inquiry into Nottingham triple killer Valdo Calocane Police officer has claimed that cops could not link two prior violent incidents, which occurred on the same day, investigated by the same force, because of suspect's "data protection" rights
