"Good" people aka the reason my adult daughter cries if she has an accident. I try to combat shame-based messages. But SO MANY think it's okay to laugh at bad people who wear adult diapers. My daughter doesn't understand all the sophistry, only the laughter at people like her.

@adamfare1996 I truly understand, but he lost the right to any sympathy when he mocked a disabled reporter. I may not outright mock him crapping his pants and such, but i fully support those that do.

My experience as a Social Prescriber was brief. We were expected to click on a red heart to access the SP programme Joy(less). It was grossly inadequate. There we could try to deal with Mrs X’s toxic mould, COPD & drug addict neighbours by sending her to a knitting group.

@worked_over Stimulants and opiates make you a better worker, at least in the short to medium term. That's why they were so readily available (able to be ordered from catalogues, bought off the shelf in any drugstore, etc) for so long.

@worked_over Drs weren't even involved in half of those examples. You don't get Coca-Cola from a doctor (contained lots of cocaine until 1903, some cocaine until 1929). Amphetamines were sold without prescription from 1930s- 1965. Francis Galton was the not-doctor who invented Eugenics.

One of the strangest realities in medicine is watching people in physical pain move through a maze of medications: "Try the antidepressant." "Try the anticonvulsant." "Try the nerve medication." "Try the sleep medication." "Try the anxiety medication." And somewhere in the middle of it, a question quietly starts forming: How did we reach a point where the search for relief can sometimes leave people carrying even more to manage? Because the cruel irony for some patients is this: They walked into the appointment with pain. And eventually found themselves still managing the pain, while carrying burdens they never walked in with: exhaustion, brain fog, disrupted sleep, emotional blunting, frightening thoughts, and a body that suddenly feels harder to recognize. People go in asking for less suffering. Not more of it.

How did our ancestors survive without ADHD medication or depression pills and anxiety meds? Can anyone explain?

The welfare bill is NOT unsustainable. This is a phrase used to con people. No one mentions how much the Govt actually get back from any welfare payments. It doesn't go into offshore accounts, it gets SPENT back into the economy.

@Dmdav1 @KShabby16334956 And not helped by NHS waiting lists and lack of counselling services. NHS talking therapy where I am was 6 week wait in 2012. It's now two years. No wonder why people are sick.

You’re watching people realize, in real time, that this was never just about “chronic pain patients.” The culture around pain management shifted so hard that now even acute, obvious injury is being under-treated. For years, patients were told “this is just how it is now.” Now it’s happening to people with torn ACLs, surgeries, fractures, and suddenly it’s shocking. It shouldn’t be. This didn’t start here. You’re just finally seeing it.
Megan Fox@MeganFoxWriter

The refusal to give pain meds with major injury is maddening. That we have to suffer because other people are addicts is wrong. Doctors need to stop this. I just went through it with my daughter tearing her ACL. They refused to give her anything stronger than Tylenol and Advil for weeks before surgery. That's cruel

To be honest, a lot of "mental health issues" disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege.

Tried to book accessible tickets at York Barbican. You’re forced straight into a Nimbus card check before you can even see seats. Since when did a private card scheme become law? The Equality Act doesn’t require this. This is a barrier. #DisabilityRights, #EqualityAct

@4blackamericans @missmayn My mom's cousin Tracy was on her ass about my sister being a slut (bc she wore black eyeliner and listened to rock and emo). Cousin Tracy's daughter missed her junior year of high school to have a baby while unmarried. My sister became a mom around 30 (married). Suck it, Tracy.

@missmayn Once body/sex positivity became rampant all the “Christians” got something to say. Like glad yall wasn’t 15 going to those girl homes cause yall was getting pregnant, yet the “sluts” are still child free.

as a millennial i remember everyone would call you a slut even if you only had sex with your boyfriend. people would call us sluts for wearing spaghetti straps. you were a slut if you had a visible bra strap. finally, we were like sure yeah, i guess we’re all sluts.

Someone explain this to me like a five year old. So disabled people are getting their support cut because “there isn’t enough money” but MP salaries are increasing. It sounds like they went disabled people to just disappear
socialist pete@socialistp40357

Dear @RachelReevesMP. Can you explain to me why MP's on £98'599 per year from April, are getting a £3'300 cost of living payment too? Most "working people" are lucky if they earn £30k, and they have to pay the cost of heating their homes and pay their own rent and mortgage too.

#Labour #LabourParty @UKLabour This is true. Treating sick, unemployed & #disabled people as whipping boys has got to stop. I've got a type of motor neurone disease. And even I get told that I'm lazy & should work. Plus, we've had eggs thrown at our windows. #disability
Spin Decoders@leith1076

Labour MPs really need to start pushing back on the endless crap spouted about welfare. The cynical decision to stay silent isn't working for you.

I burnt out during the 1st Lockdown. Hubs had terrible MH at the time, I had 2 autistic kids to look after, people were nearly coming to blows during the weekly shop. So I stopped working a crisis line. The day I caught myself *almost* snapping at a moody teen via text, I quit.
Jane Marie@247Compassion

If MH professionals are experiencing compassion fatigue, they should get help, take time out, or get another job. But never project destructive negativity & emotional harm onto patients who deserve to be shown, kindness, encouragement & hope, especially in their darkest moments.

By forcing everyone from six different benefits (plus DLA/PIP) into one "Universal Credit" bucket, the government makes the bill look like a new, exploding cost. In reality, much of that money was already being spent; it just had different names before.

@elizaclove It's like that disabled lad doing work voluntarily. But when he asked to be paid they sacked him. There is an anti disabled attitude that's being allowed to fester for some reason.

If you don’t consent to organ donation you can ‘opt out’ online and it’s completely free. You do not need to give a grifting sausage money for a useless card, bracelet or pendant. JFC 🤦🏻‍♂️
