Rwenzori Marathon Site Visits & Stakeholder Engagement – Kasese This morning, the 2nd marathon team set off for Kasese for further planning. The team includes two Kenyans🇰🇪: Mr. Bundi from Trek Sports and Adventures, and Mr. Kelvin, Team Leader at Africa Log Expeditions. They have joined us to scout and plan for over 400 kenyan runners. On the same trip, we are joined by Gavin, the Race Director, who will re-measure the Rwenzori Marathon routes. Our crew is led by @Fssozi, with @wekesa_amos and @CMasiga expected to join us soon. I’m so excited for the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo getting bigger and better each year. It promotes Uganda’s beauty, boosts tourism, creates business opportunities, and connects global travellers with our rich culture, wildlife, and experiences. #POATE

Visit Uganda, the "Pearl of Africa," for world-class mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and savanna safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park to see tree-climbing lions. The best time to visit is during the dry seasons (June–August, December–February) for peak game viewing and trekking.

Sometimes it feels like we’re not having the right conversations about tourism in Uganda. When I speak about Uganda’s unmatched beauty, many people assume it’s just for likes or views. But the truth is there are destinations in this country with incredible potential that are simply under-marketed. The photos I’ve shared capture one of my favorite places. It’s almost an abandoned gem yet it has everything: rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, mountain climbing experiences, and a national park nearby. Beyond Mount Rwenzori, this destination stands strong on its own. It has some of the best road access and is only a few hours from Kampala making it ideal for both local and international travelers. There’s a real opportunity here for the Uganda Tourism Board (@TourismBoardUg ) and the Ministry of Tourism (@MTWAUganda )to step in and position this destination properly on the global map. We need to shift from just talking to actual strategic marketing. Let’s open up the discussion Do you know this destination?

Sometimes it gets emotional, I’ve built so much of my journey through this app, and there are moments I even find myself tearing up while speaking about it. From a simple platform, I’ve connected with incredible people and institution opportunities I would have never imagined. Connections with @KwikirizaNova , @wekesa_amos , @TourismBoardUg , @ugwildlife , and many others have all come from showing up consistently here. This is bigger than one person. We need leaders and voices who are willing to benchmark from countries doing it right, bring those ideas home, and push them beyond personal gain for the benefit of all of us. Tourism, business, and opportunities in Uganda can grow massively if we align the right mindset with the right people. Twitter (X) is not just an app it’s a gateway. A gateway to networks,a gateway to opportunities,a gateway to building something bigger than yourself. Let’s choose wisely. Let’s support the right people. And most importantly, let’s stop underestimating the power we have in our hands.

There’s something so real and calming about the whole place. No pressure, no noisejust nature, culture, and a chance to slow down and breathe. It’s definitely a place I’d go back to without hesitation. @FrankTumwebazek

I’ve been quietly thinking about @emburara I honestly feel like it’s one of those places we all need to experience at least once. What you see is truly what you get simple, beautiful accommodation, peaceful surroundings, and yes, even the cows are friendly
