I’d like to think that God has a long life in store for me. But just one day after my 45th birthday, I was confronted in a very real way with the reminder that it doesn’t have to be that way if God so chooses. I could be another of those of whom people say, “Gone too soon.” I could be another of those who may say to themselves in their unexpected final moments that snuck up on them unawares, “I wish I would have….” “So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:10) May we never take for granted that the next day, neither the next moment even, is guaranteed to us. Thank you for your prayers for me. Please don’t stop them. Grateful to be laying in my own bed tonight/this morning.
