I just want to say how deeply this article resonated with me. As someone who has struggled with oversharing and navigating social boundaries my entire life, I saw myself in so many of Anson’s words. I’ve always led with openness—sometimes out of sincerity, sometimes out of fear, and sometimes out of not knowing when it was okay to keep something to myself. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared something personal, hoping for connection, only to walk away wondering if I said too much. Reading this piece helped me make more sense of why that happens. It felt like someone finally put into words the tension between wanting to be real and needing to feel safe. 💜 Thank you, Anson, for writing with such compassion and clarity. You’re helping so many of us feel seen—and reminding us that our stories are worth protecting.
