@MoniseLSeward I was told if I consolidate now, ALL my previous loan payments don’t count. I’d start back at 0. 6 years after they told me that consolidating would mean no more IDR. So…I guess I’m screwed either way.

I wrote 5 pages of my dissertation chapter (the last one, and the one I loathe most) today so I’m spending the rest of the day watching tv in the recliner eating grapes, channeling my inner hedonism bot. #Dissertation #PhD

@MaiaGeorgeCoach @swatiatrest My original advisor passed away is part of the problem. Who wouldn’t let the rest of my committee see things. And no one in my department is a British historian like me. So it’s more complicated than my short tweet - plus I’m on year 12 of standing up for myself and I’m so tired.

I don't know who needs to hear this but a good PhD is a done PhD. Just get it over with.

At the Toulouse airport, just watched a woman try to order oat milk in English for her coffee. Barista kept hearing “hot milk.” Emotions escalated to the point where I had to intervene and explain what oat milk was, and this French man was absolutely pissed to learn it exists

@MissJLomax We don’t have a bedtime (because a lot of reasons) but no phone except a flip phone she takes to games/visits to friends. Letting her be a kid - especially when I wasn’t allowed to be - trumps any annoyance.

My daughter told me I’m the strictest parent she knows (because she has a 10pm bedtime on a school day and isn’t allowed her phone overnight - she’s 14) - and I feel like I’m winning at life and taking it as a compliment 😊😊
