It’s taken him about 50 goes but he’s finally got me.. 🎣 What an ill-timed and typically opportunistic piece. The one thing that @kanecornes isn’t counting on however, is that North people - real North people - won’t quit on their club as easily as he so desperately wants them to. I do appreciate this a foreign concept for him after the South Aus MFB invested tens of thousands of dollars in him in training and development, only for him to walk away a few weeks into his tenure after he had a change of heart… or after his little protege decided the 45 minute flight from Melbourne to Adelaide was too far from his loving and definitely safe family home. Two generational quitters right there. We all get Kane’s schtick - I’ve heard he’s the ‘Australian Skip Bayliss' more times than Will Minson pulled on the Dogs jumper - but let’s be clear on a few things… Skip is a media giant, earning close to eight figures a year, talks to millions daily via his online and traditional platforms and has built a brand around going after one of the world’s most famous and popular athletes… Kane talks to 37 people, a lamp post and a few stray dogs daily on SEN Breakfast - or whatever it’s called - and is hellbent on destroying the smallest club in Australia’s largest footballing city as it endures generational lows. He’s courageously picked his mark there, but in fairness what else could you expect? It may not be tomorrow, and it may not be for another year or so yet, but as it always is, North will be fine... As Chip le Grand wrote in 2005… “IF the world were consumed by a nuclear holocaust tomorrow, the North Melbourne Football Club and cockroaches would be the only two things left scurrying round the earth."
