Life Comes At You Fast I wanted to share some personal news with everyone. I am sharing this not to seek sympathy or attention but to keep you informed about recent activities in the lives of me and my family. I also believe in the power of collective positivity, prayer, and support. Recently, I have been diagnosed with a mass in my gallbladder. This diagnosis has been a surprising and challenging revelation for me and my family. I was initially admitted to Piedmont Newton Hospital for abdominal pains, and the team found a golf ball-sized mass in my gallbladder that needed to be removed. I was transferred to Piedmont Atlanta for the surgery. Fortunately, my medical team aggressively attacked the tumor/mass, and we believe we have removed it all from my body. During the surgery, they removed my gallbladder, 10% of my liver, some lymph nodes, and some adjoining tissue. All items were then sent to pathology for analysis. Unfortunately, the mass in the gallbladder was cancer, but the other structures came back clear. So, while this wasn't the best news, it was also not the worst news to hear. Next, I will meet with my oncologist to understand more about this condition and the best ways to tackle it. The journey ahead will be a mix of treatment and recovery, and I am fortunate to be surrounded by incredible support from my loved ones and medical team. Please know I am in good spirits and determined to face this with God and the love and support of my family, friends, work family (past & present), fraternity brothers, church family, EdTech family, and anyone I missed. Hopefully I will be back out there sharing exciting and fun learning opportunities with educators. But in the meantime I will be sitting out of #FETC and #TCEA while I recover.
