Vacationing on OBX as a child, I was obsessed with the red wolves released into the Alligator River NWR. Extinct in the wild, the future of the species hung on those 8 wolves. 35yrs later, I’m here with my kids, watching, listening. 6 pups born this year. There’s still hope.
