I honestly have no words. If you still want to pretend everything is fine, that's your choice, but I can't. First, look at the reach and likes on ot7 posts, then compare them to the photo of Taehyung and Jungkook. That alone should be enough to show how much this fandom is driven by a ship rather than the music. The biggest band's fandom, by the way. Second, remember what these same people say about Jimin and Jungkook EVERY time they interact: the company is pushing a popular ship to profit from it. I didn't include stats from their show because I wanted to compare actual music content as it's the core of their work, but right now it's 1.3M reach and 184K likes. The number of posts and reactions around the two shows isn't even comparable. You'd think after getting taekook content people would finally leave Jimin alone. But no, in just the past two days, the amount of reports has been insane, worse than it's been in a long time. Everything is built on comparisons, insults and lies, and more and more Jungkook focused accounts are interacting with vile Jimin antis. "It's not that important, it's not that serious, it's just ship wars" audience - no. This is not JUST ship wars. This is the majority staying silent while hiding behind supporting the group, enabling Jimin antis who will never leave him alone because this mindset keeps getting normalized. At the same time, it's somehow accepted to say Jungkook is lying, that he only acts this or that way because of the company. So everyone just decided his words mean nothing? That he has no agency? That everything he does is dictated? That's literally rewriting who he is as a person. This is the complete erasure and distortion of people I love, support, and respect both as individuals and as artists, all to fit your narrative. No, Jimin and Jungkook are not equally popular as a ship compared to Taehyung and Jungkook. They do what they want not because of unit demand, but despite being ignored, insulted, and constantly attacked by shippers of the popular ship. And it honestly makes me sick to think this has only gotten worse over the years because of people who keep saying it's not that serious. Deep down, you know the truth: either you don't care about Jimin at all, or you're a quiet anti who just passively likes hateful content about him. And Jungkook? You rewrite him however it suits you, because the real him doesn't fit your narrative. You don't love real people behind the idol image, you love your own ideas of them. And that's just sad.
