We uncover complex demographic histories shaping the genetic diversities of previously understudied populations of North Asia and South America. Also, uncovering deep simultaneous splits in South America 14 k years ago, shaping contemporary genetic and immunogenetic diversity.

Canine genome-wide association study identifies DENND1B as an obesity gene in dogs and humans | Science science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Pleased to have my laboratory associated to this Science paper showing that dogs Labradors obesity genes are also modulating fat in human especially through the MC4R gene pathway we identified 27 years ago.

We introduce an ARG-inspired data structure Genotype Representation Graph (GRG) to enable lossless data compression, efficient computation through graph traversal. Developed a fast inference method. Cost ~80 GBP to convert 350TB VCF (200,000 UKBiobank WGS) into 160 GB GRG.

My father, former priest and social anthropologist, passed away at the age of 87. He devoted much of his life to strengthening indigenous communities across Mexico and Latin America, which inspired many of the current endeavors of my career and that of many others. Thank you Dad.
