I just arrived in New Zealand. So exciting to get freedom after more than six years. I have been invited by Word Festival in Christchurch and will participate in an event here. Thank you to all the friends who made this happen.

Aid workers around the world put themselves at risk to help save and improve the lives of others. On #WorldHumanitarianDay and every day, we must ensure that they are protected from harm, as required by international law.

It’s World Humanitarian Day! Today is about acknowledging and appreciating the empowering and inspiring work that humanitarians are doing daily, across the Globe. The compassion and kindness exercised by aid workers is truly incredible 🙌🏼 un.org/en/events/huma…

Funny how I never heard from these “free speech champions” when the Coalition Government threatened doctors & nurses with two years jail if they shared publicly the horrors that they saw on #Manus and #Nauru. Almost like they care only for speech that protects their privilege 🤔

Nades is 2 years old, she’s been locked up for 15 months in a detention centre because her family sought asylum. On her birthday she simply wanted a cake but Dutton wouldn’t allow this Is this what we are becoming. Anyone feel safer? I just feel shame. theguardian.com/australia-news…

The simple dignity of being able to provide food for your family for the coming week & to chose the food that your family needs too. That’s what you make possible when you #donate to the @ASRC1 Foodbank that feeds 100s of refugee families every week 👉🏼 asrc.org.au/helptoday/

Australia cannot ignore the human crisis in Manus and Nauru. The situatation is getting worse day by day, it is a crime against humanity and violation of human rights. I wonder why the international humanitarian organisation are silent in the face of these crimes.#auspol

I had to speak to 40 people seeking asylum today whose lives have been profoundly devastated by this election result, at the @ASRC1. Their faces were full of tears & agony but also a determination to not give up. If refugees can do this then we owe it to stand up & be counted too
