It's through suffering that one can make sense of things and in Witnail's eyes, there are no accidents in this part of the country and lads are gladly throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness 🗿.( Witnail and I)

" I'm a trained actor reduced to the states of a bum🗿" From the film; Witnail and I. Two graduate actors must find way through life. A film full of wit, the performance is ridiculously good - only download subtitles to go along .

Blessed is one whose path( upon setting out into the unknown) is filled with assurances, someone nodding along the way. For most it's gauging whether the light at the end of the tunnel might as well be some train storming in, and one risks getting crushed.(Frankenstein)

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is among my favourite books read and reread. When it comes out in film, one cannot help being intrigued. Many watches have been garbage and the consolation; rereading the text.Frankenstein 2025,not as good as the text but it is something like the truth

@GreatStoriesPod The moment when Sonny begins playing his blues is so iconic I put it in the same line with the shootout scene in the movie Heat.

Just settled on story number 19 of @GreatStoriesPod and it will be the stunning 'Sonny's Blues' by James Baldwin. I've just read it again and it is absurdly powerful and my new favourite. Number 20, with @PooleyTGS, will be Denis Johnson's beautiful and evocative 'Work.'
