@ELaveryMD @placentadoc I would not release a prescription if I truly felt that it was unsafe for my patient. However, in saying that I would try my best to ensure that there would be a plan in place to get them the care they needed ASAP!

@ELaveryMD @placentadoc Completely. I’ve been finding that asking the patient is a great place to start for additional information on indications. Unfortunately, prescribers aren’t always immediately accessible when the patient is right in front of you at the pharmacy.

@placentadoc Not a very lovely thread to read as a new practicing pharmacist. Seems like a great opportunity for appropriate education, sharing of resources, etc. I don't think I will ever practice with the mindset that the prescriber is always right. Everyone is going to make mistakes.

Was counselling a patient on a new PRN medication today, and they let me know they probably wouldn't take it too often because they weren't the biggest fan of pills. They then quickly added a polite ~no offence~ 😆
