I want to tell you how my journey in crypto began.
A mix of cryptocurrency and personal life.
In the spring of 2017, I first heard the word Bitcoin, and six months later I was already recording YouTube videos about mining.
Back then everything felt new, risky, and exciting.
That’s how it all started.
Until that point, my life was pretty ordinary a regular job, nothing related to IT, software, or crypto.
My first encounter with Bitcoin happened in the spring of 2017. My best friend asked, “Do you know what Bitcoin and mining are? It’s trending on YouTube.”
Of course, I didn’t. I don’t think I even watched YouTube much back then.
But it hooked me. I started digging in watching videos, reading articles.
No one told me to just “buy Bitcoin and hold it.”
So I went another route cloud mining. Back then it was Genesis Mining.
I figured I couldn’t afford a mining rig, had no space, no experience, but renting hash power sounded easy enough.
Then I decided to start my own YouTube channel and record videos about mining and crypto.
The first video came out on September 22, 2017.
I made nine in total.
One became my “hit” "How to install a Bytecoin wallet on PC" - it got 3,500 views.
Besides mining, I started buying coins not Bitcoin or Ethereum, but whatever I liked from the top 100: TRX, DOGE, LTC, Bytecoin, Reddcoin, and a few others.
I remember once buying some random altcoin that shot up so fast it made me three months’ salary in just a few days.
Pulling up to work one morning, I thought:
“Why am I even going here anymore?”
Being inexperienced, I didn’t take profits waited for more growth.
But the coin crashed as quickly as it rose.
The end of 2017 was madness October, November, December - everything was going up, new ATHs every week.
It was real crypto mania.
