We hired an American Sign Language Interpreter so I could interview Javier and allow him to tell his story in his own words. Since his release, he’s been scared to go out for fear the ankle monitor will bring agents back to arrest him. Despite that, he returned to work this week

Now, before you start accusing me of saying that they should be denied access to spoken languages. I'm not. Children need full access to language from day one, LSL does not provide that. LSL is a form of training, not access.

I have grave concerns with this legal action being taken by the ACLU of Delaware. It is more likely to do more harm than good if they win. Let me make something absolutely clear, LSL (Listening and Spoken Language) is not the gold standard among deaf children. Far from it.
