Pleased to share our new paper which found that exposure to HFSS marketing through traditional formats (e.g. broadcast & print) was associated with greater household purchases of energy (9779kcal), protein (416g), carbohydrate(1164g) and sugar (514g) over a four week period.

Additionally, individuals who reported exposure to advertising for sugary drinks were more likely to purchase sugar-sweetened beverages over the four week period🧃

A significant announcement today, as Mayors have come together with a commitment to banning junk food marketing across the areas they control to protect the health and well-being of their communities. They have #AdEnough 1/

We conducted two experiments, testing foods with energy densities up to ~3kcal/g, finding that high ED foods were consistently associated with greater intake.

📜New Paper! We found that foods higher in energy density were associated with greater energy intake at a meal and over a full day regardless of familiarity. Findings suggest that reformulation may be an effective approach to reducing energy intake🍕 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
