In ancient times, the worst punishment was not death. It was banishment from the tribe. Why? Because early humanity did not yet experience itself as a fully separate individual. Steiner explains: Human beings once lived in a kind of group consciousness. The “I” was not fully awakened. To be part of the tribe was not just social; it was existential. Your thinking, your identity, your sense of reality were woven into the life of the group. To be cast out meant something far deeper than loneliness. It meant losing your connection to the very field that gave you orientation, meaning, and inner stability. It was, in a real sense, a form of spiritual death. This is why exile was feared more than execution. But evolution did not stop there. Humanity was meant to pass from group soul → to individual I. What was once held by the tribe must now be developed within the individual. Inner direction. Moral judgment. Meaning. Today, many still unconsciously seek the tribe: in public opinion, in ideology, in the need to belong at all costs. But Steiner’s point is clear: What once came from outside must now be born from within. The danger today is no longer exile from the tribe, but never truly becoming an individual. Can I stand alone, and still remain connected to truth?

I would rather build with someone stupid who believes it can work than a genius who has already decided it wont. because the genius will be right about everything, and you will both starve together with his correct analysis. while the stupid one is already moving, already failing, already getting hit and getting back up. and you look at him and think, how is this idiot winning? and the answer is, he never stopped long enough to realize he shouldnt be. and God has always worked this way. he picked shepherds, not scholars. he made the seas through a mans speech. He chose Moses who stuttered over men who spoke beautifully. the mouth that cannot explain why it will work is the mouth that will scream it into existence, while the eloquent ones are still reviewing the proposal
