Wilgeheuwel Substation (Honeydew, Willowbrook, Willowbrook Ext 3, 12 & 17, Wilgeheuwel and Honeydew Ridge): Full supply has been restored. The outage was caused by a cable fault and the operators restored supply via backfeeding.

Warning: The power system is constrained. We urge customers to reduce their electricity consumption to prevent overloading the system.
Parkhurst Substation (Victory Park North distributor): The team has commenced with the necessary preparations to install the replacement Ring Main Unit (RMU). This follows an outage caused by a flashed RMU that is affecting power supply to customers in Victory Park North.
Simultaneously, the team has collected the replacement unit from the storage facility, and it is now being transported to the site. The team will proceed with the installation and reconfiguration of the new RMU shortly.
We will continue to keep affected customers updated on further developments as work progresses on site.
The estimated time for restoration (ETR) is not available at this stage.

Hopefield Substation (Lawley 2 ARC Distributor): The team has managed to complete repairs, and the power supply has been restored.
This outage affected Lawley Ext 2.

Mayoral Acceleration Service Delivery Blitz – 30 July
As part of our ongoing Service Delivery Blitz, our streetlight maintenance team is currently hard at work on Gill Street in Bezuidenhout Valley.
One of the streetlights was found to be non-functional due to a faulty fitting. The team successfully replaced the faulty component with a new, energy-efficient LED fitting.
The streetlight is now fully operational, improving visibility and safety in the area while reducing energy consumption.
