my comments on the snsd vs twice discourse that's been going around lately —— twice's longevity and continued success after 11 years are genuinely impressive and deserve recognition. remaining relevant across multiple generations while continuing to achieve new milestones is not something many groups can do, and fans have every reason to be proud of that. however, being objective also means acknowledging the achievements and influence of other groups. saying snsd "disappeared" or became irrelevant after twice debuted ignores a lot of context and oversimplifies history. snsd simply entered a different stage of their careers, with members focusing on solo music, acting, hosting, musicals, and other individual activities. reduced group activity is not the same as losing relevance. i also think fandoms should be willing to recognize the strengths and accomplishments of groups beyond their own favorites. appreciating snsd's legacy does not diminish twice's success, just as acknowledging twice's achievements does not erase snsd's impact on the industry. every generation builds on the foundation left by those before it while creating its own legacy for those who come after. being objective means being able to appreciate both without feeling threatened by either. twice's success is real. snsd's legacy is real. both can coexist without rewriting history to favor one over the other.
