So pleased to share that Lumen Global Majority Award Winners @RusselHlongwane, @FrancoisKnoetze and @Amy_L_Wilson_ of @lodeffilms, have won an Award of Distinction at the S+T+ARTS Prize Africa @ArsElectronica for “Dzata: The Institute of Technological Consciousness”. In fabricating a fictional institute and its archive, the artists imagine centuries-old vernacular technological practices from across the African continent. Huge congrats guys! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@Amy_L_Wilson_ In this case, they sent me the PO, with their payment due in 30 days, but also with all the ad agency details and contacts. So they got the cash for all artists in April, been sitting on it since then and now saying they not paid yet. But amazingly will have it by month end.

Myself and another artist waiting on fair chunk of change from a production company, monies taking bit long so we query and get told client is dragging feet. Send heavy-handed mail, knowing it's bullshit and get told end of month due to cash flow issues. 😂😭😂😭

@Amy_L_Wilson_ Bit of a mish mash of sources, some sent to me direct and some via newsletters. Love @OnTheMoveOTM and @africanofilter - they should cover the majority of opps that might be of interest to you...

you don't need lots of skills to write a good application, just respond to the brief (don't shoe horn an existing idea into the wrong grant opp) a good accessor can see past the formatting & slick pitch they just want to get to the heart of an idea & think yep, this does it.

Innovation and technology are often viewed through a Western prism, but what if we viewed it through the lens of African history and traditions? #MozillaAwardee 'Dzata' rethinks innovation, mixing speculative fiction and fantasy. More here: mzl.la/3zcfLuM
