In communist countries, because they couldn't afford to make disposable bottles, they used to have these vending machines where you had to bring your own bottle and get it filled with Soda.
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man being a fascist doesnt mean you have to understand fascism or even capitalism. yes they are enemies but fascism is liberalism in decay. fascism and social democracy are 2 edges of the same sword, the sword of saving the capitalist class.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Interesting. From my perspective I believe that fascists are enemies of Liberalism (personal liberty, democracy, secularism, free-market economies). I am strongly opposed to fascists, but if I understood how social democracy logically aids fascism, I'd drop it.
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Fascism at its core is a response to social changes in society (unrest and discontent) almost always working class people want to overthrow the system, capitalists fund strong men to secure the state and their own wealth, thats why fascism and socdem serve the same goal.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Yeah that dude can be funny for sure. I notice I have an emotional reaction before a rational one to Stalin's assessment of SocDems. That's definitely a radical thought from my perspective. Again, not saying he's wrong, but my brain is screaming "that can't possibly be right"
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man oh ya hes funny (sometimes) i personally think social democracy is worse than normal capitalism (stalin said its the moderate wing of fascism) because its just abating the problem, prevents real change.
@Somef340067@Research43062@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Speaking only for myself, I'm interested in better understanding their point of view since it's radically different from mine. I'm able to disagree without being disagreeable. And when I don't assume I'm right and simply listen, I sometimes learn something I didn't before
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I agree with you. I meant to say in comedic terms that I currently look towards the Nordic Model as the gold standard. I acknowledge that's capitalist and I also acknowledge it seems to be an unviable ideology. Maoist (jokingly) because of the famous black Maoist on twitter
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man social democracy is still capitalism and im not a maoist just a ML- social democracy just like any kind of reform can always be undone. see modern europe rn and they are removing or reducing a lot of social programs currently.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man At 20, the only thing I own is generational student loan debt. 😭
I definitely accept that I'm often wrong and can be wrong about capitalism, but I'd be shocked to see myself go from "We just need more social democracy" to Maoist supremacy
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I agree with you that violence can be necessary for meaningful change. I'm maybe not as radicalised as you though, friend (I'm certainly heavily influenced by western media I enjoy and grew up with)
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man sometimes that's what happened though, laws were adopted to kick peasants off their lands and from being able to survive on their own collecting wood in germany was a crime for ex. the violence is only possible when the conditions warrant a change of power.
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man because poverty is artificial. most people work more than is socially necessary and under capitalism debt drives consumption, everything's price is artificially inflated therefore people have to work more than socially necessary to give profits to the wealthy.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I agree, but feudalism which came before was way worse (unless ur an integralist). Also, people didn't say "let's do capitalism now!" It came about naturally as market based systems were adopted. Your ideology is to accelerate and force a violent revolution on purpose
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man the arrival of capitalism was not peaceful either, (i suggest you listen to some Parenti lectures on YT) but capitalism's birth was mired in wars and violence, who wouldn't prefer a peaceful solution? yet it won't happen to end violence; violence is necessary.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I know some very happy poor people and some very miserable CEOs and billionaires dude. Nevertheless, if you claim that the majority of suffering in the world comes from poverty and capitalism, how does your system directly address that immediately in a way capitalism can't?
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Would overthrowing the current capitalist regimes not be an incredibly violent revolution? Lots of people would die. This is my whole point, does your ideology mitigate suffering, or significantly increase suffering in the world in the name of progress?
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man suffering is a reality of life here there are 2 options, eliminate the human race or yourself. Or you can accept suffering can be mitigated and support humanity's progress.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man But I could very easily imagine the end of capitalism lol. My hypothetical is to highlight that existence can be worse than death if you're making a majority of people suffer to just to live on
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man Firstly, I said I care more about humanity deserving to survive, over surviving at all costs in response to you saying the opposite.
If you question that, right back at you. Would you prefer a world of infinite suffering with humans existing forever, or humans extinct?
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man If we deserve to exist is irrelevant and how is that decided? by our actions as a species? are our actions set in stone or are they positioned by the systems we live under?
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I can imagine a world where humanity lives on under the subjugation of a tyrannical ruler forever and one where humanity dies out and I think the latter is a more merciful and just world
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man You could be right about capitalism being a threat to the survival of humans, I'd be foolish to say that's inconceivable. But I'm more concerned about humans deserving to still exist, rather than survival of humanity at all costs. I have no attachment to human supremacy
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I'll definitely do so, but it's not as if I'm going to strongly disagree with Marx's theory. I understand dialectical materialism at the most basic level as someone who reads Hegel and regularly reads from guys like Zizek. I'm more curious what you believe in your own words
@AnW6ix@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man you and I simply have different views of the same reality, your views and perceptions are shaped by cultural and social organizations (church news the state etc and even academic publishers) that push a certain worldview that is pro capitalist. Understanding here is impossible.
@Research43062@Somef340067@erejnion@Colton_12345@The_Davos_Man I'm curious, regardless of what's right or wrong, what's your vision? Do you support North Korea's course for the entire world? What is it that you believe in and are trying to achieve?
