Can we talk about how hard it is to work in theatre when you have no relatives/family friends in the industry and didn't grow up in London? Anyone? #theatre #uktheatre

Just posting this again. Yes tv is picking up a bit, ( not normal levels in my opinion though) but we’ve lost a WHOLE industry in theatre. We are still not back to normal, you aren’t crap at your job, and you aced today doing whatever you are doing.

Quick reminder that as tv projects start getting announced/photos being taken of the occasional jobs in theatre/deadline articles name your nemeses- it can feel like you are missing out while everyone else gets jobs. It’s not everyone. It’s a lucky few. We are not back to normal

@BeeBabs Completely agree, when I moved here to England I was automatically put in lower sets because of my lack of English but even when English became second nature they still wouldn’t move me up ... it was a constant battle

The notion of "sets" in the British school system is so backward. My mother (a secondary school teacher for nearly 20 years & head of department) hates them. She thinks that unless a child genuinely has learning difficulties, it not only caps potential but is dismissive of it

"Sorry about my English" is an apology no one should feel necessary to give.
We should normalize that English is not everyone's first language.
We should downplay the importance of good grammar.
It serves as a colonial gate-keeping mechanism

Didn’t even realise MP’s get a £25 per day food allowance.
£125 per week
£1300 per year ( per person)
£845,000 per year for all MP’s
£800k + of our taxes go towards feeding MP’s on £80k a year while children go hungry. If that doesn’t bother you then you have a problem
