After the dust settles….there’s absolutely no reason why we can’t go over there and win by two. Keep the faith. #NFFC

It’s impossible to punish those who did wrong but you have to try and negate the sporting advantage that was gained from that period. Likely had Hazard for multiple seasons because of it and sold him for an 80m profit. It could act as a reputational deterrent. Those ex chief execs would be under a lot more heat if the punishment was more severe.

Is David Luiz a sporting advantage? Transfer bans are far better sanction i think. Hope Man City get a long term strict transfer ban, rather than points deduction which can be forgotten about within 2 seasons. Still in this case it doesn’t punish the people who did the wrong doing. Same as there’s no real justice in penalising the club of Sheffield Wednesday when they no longer have the same owner who created the mess. It’s not a deterrent because the owners are always ahead of any punishment.

If you read far enough you get past the reactive stuff to the reality........ "No two cases are identical, and the Chelsea circumstances do carry genuine mitigating weight. The conduct occurred under previous ownership. The new owners voluntarily disclosed the issues and co-operated throughout a lengthy investigation. These are not trivial considerations." Giving the current Chelsea team a points deduction is not a deterrent when dealing with offences from 8-15 years ago, which are entirely beyond the control of the current version of the club. The key punishments should be restricting the previous owners and executives from any future roles at clubs in England due to their actions. The fine should be much more significant and shouldn't have been reduced. If you really want a sporting sanction, then you strike their title-winning seasons from the official record. Even then, it doesn't really punish the people actually responsible for this. A points deduction works as a deterrent for PSR because it's as close to 'real-time' punishment as you can get. It punishes people breaking the rules. A points deduction enforced now for dodgy owners 10+ years ago would be daft, and if anything, it just incentivises new owners hiding any such problems they uncover. Whataboutery comes in lots of forms. Often, for instant clicks and anger. The reality is this is a specific case with a lot of context. It's not comparable to Forest & Everton breaching PSR within the 3-year period it runs for, affecting the current team. Fans, players, and most staff cannot control who owns their clubs and how they behave. Points deductions should be a last resort because the impact mainly hurts those who follow the club for life, not those passing through who can conceal and deal and walk away.

I don't think we can ignore how disgracefully lenient this panel have been to Chelsea here. Especially considering what has gone before. To have sporting sanctions excluded entirely because of co-operation when #nffc merely got a points penalty reduced by 25% for co-operation cannot be right. And in the #Everton case we saw far more in the form of exceptional circumstances to get a sporting sanction massively trimmed if not excluded than with Chelsea.

Think you know the backpass rule? It reads "it has been deliberately kicked to the goalkeeper by a team-mate" So....was this a backpass or not?

🚨In the Forest PSR case, the Premier League submitted: "that the 50% discount suggested by Forest is too high: it gives too much credit for admission and cooperation and would be both disproportionate to the conduct being rewarded" Yet in Chelsea agreed co-operation as mitigation for NO sporting sanction.
