Dr. Julie Wisch, longtime Ances lab member, recently received a KL2 award to pursue an investigation of blood-based biomarkers in Down Syndrome. We're excited to share the goals and planned impacts of this project, which will occur in the next 2 years.

Omar has characterized brain metabolism in genetic forms of AD, investigated the importance of APOE4 in Down Syndrome and presented his work at multiple conferences, including those hosted by both NIH and HAI. (2/3)

Community Living had a pancake breakfast to fundraise for their adult recreation program. They had great breakfast, music, & outdoor games. The facility has a sensory room, accessible bathrooms, and a large outdoor playground for the kids. Thanks for having us! @abc_ds_

Taken together, this suggests that Alzheimer Disease progresses faster in Down Syndrome than in Autosomal Dominant AD, and that drug interventions may need to be targeted for a more specific time window in Down Syndrome. (6/6)

For a given level of amyloid burden, individuals with Down Syndrome had more tau pathology than individuals with Autosomal Dominant AD. (5/6)
