🚨🇭🇰 HONG KONG'S FIRE UPDATE: DEATH TOLL 36, 279 STILL MISSING, FIREFIGHTER DEAD, BLAZE FINALLY UNDER CONTROL
The horror in Tai Po's Wang Fuk Court keeps getting worse:
At least 36 confirmed dead, 279 people still unaccounted for, and 1 absolute hero, a 37-year-old firefighter, lost his life battling the flames.
Over 800 firefighters and paramedics, backed by 140 engines, are on scene in what’s now a No. 5 alarm (the worst possible).
They’ve rescued a baby and an elderly woman so far, but frantic residents are begging authorities for help finding loved ones inside the seven burning towers that house 4,600 people.
Chief Executive John Lee says the fire is starting to come under control.
3 buildings now show no flames, 4 have only scattered fires left. Let's pray that holds.
Investigation already launched:
Police, fire services, and the buildings department are ripping into whether fire-retardant materials and that damn bamboo scaffolding met standards.
Because officials are straight-up saying the speed of the spread was "unusual" and shouldn't have happened this fast.
This is Hong Kong's worst fire disaster in decades. Hold your families tight tonight.

🚨🇭🇰 HONG KONG HIGH-RISE INFERNO: FOUR DEAD, FIREFIGHTERS STILL BATTLING THE BLAZE A towering firestorm ripped through a housing estate in Hong Kong today - a blaze so aggressive it jumped between multiple high-rise towers, choked the skyline with black smoke, and killed at least four people, including one firefighter. This was not a small incident. This was a vertical disaster in one of the densest cities on Earth. Reports say residents were trapped inside units as flames climbed scaffolding - the bamboo kind Hong Kong still uses during renovations, which becomes a giant fuse when conditions are dry. And Hong Kong has been sitting under a red fire danger warning for days. Perfect storm. Injury count so far: 3, 2 in critical condition. Alarm level escalation: from No. 1 to No. 4 in under 45 minutes - the 2nd-highest emergency classification the city has. Firefighters fought through the afternoon and were still at it after dark. Buses rerouted. Roads shut. Residents evacuated under falling ash. The deeper problem?
