@jordanpbanks That’s not typically what happens when countries go independent. Usually the party or movement that achieved independence goes on to run the country, and does so for a very long time.

The day that Scotland gains its independence is the same day the SNP dies. That is just logical. Surely the the people who claim to be against the SNP and for Indy should be voting FOR them at this point. Its almost like there is another goal.

I hate this by Swinney as if only nationalists want to advocate as hard as possible for Scotland. Let's look at motivation: @Malcolm_Offord has given up a seat in the Lords, oodles of cash and a life sailing the Caribbean to do his best by Scotland. Swinney just wants another term, treading water at Holyrood, dangling the carrot of Independence, while he continues - like so many of his colleagues - to be paid by the taxpayer. Who would you trust to fight for Scotland?

@mdf200 Murray is right - He clearly understands a lot more about budgets than you do… you keep obfuscating to the UK and avoiding the point which is the deficit between tax take and spend keeps growing.

How the hell can that be true, when Scotland runs a balanced budget? Why is he not criticizing the UK for ALWAYS borrowing hundreds of billions? We pay over £110billion a YEAR in repayments alone. The UK can't budget worth a damn, it's addicted to borrowing.
