It is a continuum that includes accurate diagnosis (medical doctors), medication management (pharmacists), skilled nursing, rehabilitation (physiotherapists), etc. Let me ask a question: Do Nigerians know that the best person in terms of medication management (selection, duration, interaction, etc.,) is not in charge of the medication side of patient care (especially inpatient care) in many government hospitals even though the consultancy pharmacist cadre has been approved by the HoCSF in 2020. Do they know what this means? This means more medication errors, longer hospital stays, and wasted resources. All to protect a hierarchy. What an irony! It is difficult to believe that a health professional association would make such a claim. This clearly shows that the motive is political, not clinical. You cannot make such a statement and at the same time claim to be advocating for the public. The goal should be the advancement of all HCWs within their areas of expertise, not the suppression of others. At least it is not your field, so leave it alone. This should be a wake-up call to other HCWs, … One, it is getting clear day by day that this is not your fight. @Fmohnigeria, When NARD is limiting other HCWs professionally, that is them saying we are not allies in the healthcare system. Personally, I have nothing against people getting good remunerations for their work. But intentionally sabotaging others, we should all be against it.
