To start the disbursement of the €6b Reform & Growth Facility for the #WesternBalkans in the following weeks, 🇦🇱🇽🇰🇲🇪🇲🇰🇷🇸 have set out their very ambitious #ReformAgendas. Today we’re one step closer to kick start implementing this new instrument as we approved these agendas. 👇

#Albania just achieved a major milestone in its EU integration process. On today’s #IGC we commend the determination & committed work of Albania. As Albania delivered on the required reforms, we are able to open the 1st Cluster -Fundamentals allowing to proceed w/ other Clusters.

Coreper has adopted the EU Common Position on Cluster 1: Fundamentals, allowing the second intergovernmental conference with Albania to be held on October 15. This will mark the opening of Albania’s first negotiation cluster under the revised enlargement methodology, which prioritizes fundamental reforms. Progress in these areas will determine the pace of the overall negotiations.

The Reform Agendas of Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia & Serbia have been approved under the new €6 billion Reform & Growth Facility. This paves the way for pre-financing to begin during the Hungarian Presidency. Supporting the Western Balkans' integration remains a key priority of #HU24EU.
