Today, the Treasury Department and IRS issued proposed regulations identifying the occupations that customarily and regularly received tips before 2025, and therefore may be eligible for the deduction. The proposed regulations also address the definition of “qualified tips” and other requirements taxpayers must comply with to claim the deduction.

Residents should get together and broadcast the Pastafarian flying spaghetti monster call to prayer at at exactly the same decibel level at random times in the middle of the night (as is the reform Pastafarian tradition) until the ordinance is enforced for everyone. (@LKrauss1)

Residents in Dearborn, Michigan, have filed complaints against nearly 20 mosques for broadcasting the Islamic call to prayer via outdoor loudspeakers at 5:30 in the morning. The residents say it violates the city's noise ordinance prohibiting amplified sounds from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Police have conducted decibel tests at complaint sites but issued no citations. Mayor Abdullah Hammoud emphasizes unity and dialogue, claiming that the call to prayers has been allowed in Dearborn since 2004 and should remain so.
