@eadams33 @beaulebens @WooCommerce @WordPress It could potentially be an option in the settings. By default add it lower. Setting allows to put it under Dashboard if the user wants it.

@beaulebens @WooCommerce @WordPress I guess it’s fine if there’s good reason to make that change. Just weary because a lot of other plugins pull that trick to be more visible and it kinda sucks, I guess.

I'm experimenting with a possible direction for @WooCommerce menu structure. This modifies how @WordPress' main nav works, introducing an additional layer of nesting. Handles Woo extensions, allows for other plugins to still nest inside the Woo area, and also moves Orders to the top of the Woo area. @learnwithmattc Or "My client is not paying for staging sites." You are doing it wrong. Sell it. Make it part of your package. Make them understand it is important and how it can actually save them in the long run. If they still don't want it, drop the client. It'll be better for you, trust me.

@learnwithmattc I still don't understand reasons like "I have no time to set up a staging site or test updates." If your website is your livelihood, better make time to ensure it doesn't stop. You'll see it's worth the investment.

@benUNC @Solid_WP @stellarwp You did good. There are always people who are afraid of change or "corporates". And people who don't want to be helped, or who want to vent but don't want to listen. That's okay. The important thing is that you answered, you're transparent, and the community sees it.

@HowellsMead Resist the urge to manage yourself like the way managers you've HATED did.

If yr staging site is on the same #WordPress multi-site network as yr production site, & a plugin update breaks yr staging site, it will likely also break yr production site. Lesson: Don't have your staging site in the same multi-site installation as your production site.
