Just learned about this at @supervveek. Unofficial solution to replicate product list and promotion attribution in GA4. github.com/google/ga4-eco… This container template stores product list click and promo click data in a cookie and then uses that in GA4

@KrisjanOldekamp @DavidHer_mann Exciting! That makes things a lot easier. You could already connect to Firestore in the past via HTTP from SGTM - that’s what I am using so far in many cases.

Seems like #GTM Server is now able to connect to the Firestore database (tip by @DavidHer_mann), effectively opening the door to a whole range of new use cases like data enrichment. Think of identity stitching, profile enrichment, product data lookups etc. Cool stuff!

Grrr....🤬 so disappointed with Shopify Plus. They pushed a code change live November 17th that caused 10-15% of purchase data layers to fail and aren't treating it like a bug because their docs say that variables aren't **100%** reliable.

@AnalyticsNinja @getelevar Ok, i.e. the Liquid checkout and Liquid order variable are not reliable and therefore @getelevar suggested on January 21st to use the JS window.Shopify.checkout object; and that one is still reliably available and easier to use than SSGTM?

@AndreKolell @getelevar ***reliable "enough", they were failing on some days almost 15% of the time for us. Elevar reported up to 40% of the time.

@getelevar @AnalyticsNinja Isn't it reliable to use the the Liquid variable shopify.dev/docs/themes/li… instead of JS ones? Which "obvious downsides" do you have in mind?

@AnalyticsNinja We saw the same thing. We set up tracking to quantify missing line items and order IDs on a bunch of stores. Some are 40+%. The js "fix" is using checkout object instead of order. Lots of downsides obviously, but can prevent null. Native ga<>shopify now has mixed trans IDs
