Today, I had the privilege to present our study on the high mortality and causes of death in patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease at #ESCMIDGlobal2024 in Barcelona.
P.s. We found a 41% 5yr-mortality rate & 45% died of respiratory disease!

News from the NTM landscape in Denmark!
Nontuberculous mycobacterial disease:
⚫️ Increased by 5.6 to 6.6% per year
⚫️ Was especially high in the elderly (for pulmonary NTM)
