New case publication A patient with multisite symptoms was referred to PT for several local diagnoses. Exam revealed a unifying diagnosis: cervical myelopathy. This case highlights the importance of assessing for underlying etiologies before performing regional exams. #JOSPT

We just wrapped up the fall Duke student-led clinic, where teams of DPT students guided community members through individualized physical therapy plans of care. This rewarding experience is a tangible example of what makes the Duke DPT program special. #DukeDPT

Presented at NASS 2025 on how integrating gait analysis into clinical assessment and outcome tracking can enhance spine care. We must collaborate across disciplines to accelerate innovation and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Presented on Spine-Related Lower Extremity Pain at AAOMPT, sharing a PT perspective on the 2023 IASP consensus definitions. Grateful for the thoughtful discussion that followed. Aligning on terminology enhances precision in PT management and strengthens collaboration. #AAOMPT

In the first large-scale analysis of physical therapy following neck surgery (ACDF), we found that 17% of 309,230 patients utilized outpatient PT within 1 year of surgery. Understanding who benefits most may inform optimal postoperative recovery pathways.

Presented a 90-minute education session at the APTA NC Annual Conference on thoracic outlet syndrome. My motivation stems from the fact that many experience delayed diagnosis and currently only 27–39% report a satisfactory outcome with PT alone at 1- to 4-year follow-up.

I have graduated from the Duke Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship and have accepted a full-time clinical position at Duke Health.

Wrapping up 6 weeks of injury triage at the American Dance Festival! The onsite physical therapy clinic has helped the dancers perform their best and has been staffed for over 40 years by Duke physicals therapists, including Dr. Rosie Canizares.

Had an extremely edifying couple of days! Was invited by Duke to be their keynote address speaker for their resident/fellow graduation. Great to see so many colleagues, past & present and to meet some bright, energetic PTs. Capped off visit with a talk for the Sports Med team.
