@marielambravo42@MaddernBryan@SarahCeja03 Hi Mariela,
I had not thought about the privacy issue that YouTube poses. I believe that in terms of privacy, Flipgrid is a superior platform. It allows students to be creative and create interesting videos for classmates to respond to via a video. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
Question 4). Shout out to @SarahCeja03 for tonight's question! Remember to respond with A4) and be sure to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@Mari05678@MaddernBryan@SarahCeja03@Duncannedd@csubted Hi Maria,
I think that's a great idea. For me, it's tough to work out if I am not listening to music. I get bored, lack motivation, and stop my workout before time. Most gyms have music, and I think it creates a great ambiance. Students would enjoy it too. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@MaddernBryan@SarahCeja03 One technological tool that could have been incorporated to enhance the school experience would be wireless earphones in PE class. Students can listen to music while in this class to help them focus, especially during runs.
@Duncannedd@csubted#CSUBTED#CSUBEDTE4200#edtech
@MaddernBryan@SarahCeja03 A4) I would have loved to use Youtube to create class presentations. The use of YouTube could have led to unique presentations in the classroom. It would have also been to have alternative to writing papers or creating slide presentations. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@conceptionv2@Ststansberry@joceperezCSUB Hi Victoria,
I had never thought of using a podcast as a tool to deliver an engaging lesson. I believe that it's a great idea and beneficial for ELL students, as it allows them to hear spoken English. It can then lead to engaging classroom discussions. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@Ststansberry@joceperezCSUB I believe podcasts are an interesting way to get students to listen to a novel or a discussion when there is still confusion of the novel. It’ll be a useful tool to use to help makeup for missed discussions and those who prefer an audio over physical version! #csubted
Question 3). Let’s keep the chat going strong. Tonight’s question was written by @JoceperezCSUB. Make sure you respond with A3) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@mzlupitareyes@Ststansberry@joceperezCSUB@Duncannedd Hi Lupita,
I use IXL in my classroom to help students review lower-level questions. I believe it is beneficial for ELL students. Math is universal, and they can achieve success in it. However, IXL should be used with caution and not as a core assignment. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@Ststansberry@joceperezCSUB A3) The program IXL can be beneficial in the classroom as this is a flexible tool to comprehend content at each students own level. It also has different language voice translations such as Spanish for each skill. #csubedte4200#csubted@Duncannedd
@Ststansberry@joceperezCSUB A3) A technology that is beneficial for ELL students, especially those that don't speak English, is Google Translate. Students can speak or type in their native language, and although not perfect, it will help them hear and see the translation in English. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@TracieBrackins@tom_karnes@CsubMadelyns@Duncannedd Hi Tracie,
I agree with you. I hated any class where all a teacher would do is read off a powerpoint. I thought it was a waste of my time and I could easily do that on my own time. I believe students at any grade level feel the same way. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
Hey all...here is Tuesday's question 2 written by @CSUBMadelyns. Make sure you respond with A2) before your response. Don't forget to tag #CSUBTED , #CSUBEDTE4200, and your EDTE 4200 professor.
@kassidy_mason2@tom_karnes@CsubMadelyns@Ststansberry Hi Kassidy,
I completely agree with you. I believe that technology should used at school, but not expected to be used at home by students. Sometimes, we know very little about a students home life and a small assignment can create a big headache. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@tom_karnes@CsubMadelyns A2) As a sub, it is apparent access to technology at home creates a tech savviness disparity between children. Often children w/o access to tech at home will struggle to find their assignments or finish them, and will require extra help. #csubted#csubedte4200@Ststansberry
@tom_karnes@CsubMadelyns A2: A common way I’ve seen technology create inequitable challenges is when teachers assign students homework online. Students can have limited wifi and/or no device at home. Often times, this leads to creating unnecessary stress to students and parents. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@MythyWriterGuy@doctor2pi@tom_karnes Hi Joel,
I had not heard of Pear Deck before. It seems to provide teachers with many interesting real-world resources that can be used in the classroom to spark student interest and conversations. Definitely, something I will look into more. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@doctor2pi A1)One technology resource I have come to like is Pear Deck, they constantly build new activities that involve administration, students, and teachers. A great tool that evolves as the classroom does. #csubted#csubedte4200@tom_karnes
@SusieGamino@doctor2pi Hi Susie, I also find Google Classroom to be very helpful. It helps me stay organized and gives my students a one stop destination for many resources. I had not heard of Padlet before, but it's something I will definitely look into. #csubted@DrEddiesClass
@doctor2pi A1) for me, it would be google classroom, when I was teaching 5th grade it was very informative to me as I could see where everyone was at In our class discussion or project. I also recently was introduced to Padlet which I can see myself using in my future classrooms.#CSUBTED
@doctor2pi A1: I have found Google Classroom to be a helpful technology resource. It has allowed me to keep all my periods organized and a one-stop place for students to find many resources, such as google slides and docs, which I use for collaboration. #CSUBTEd@DrEddiesClass
