@Xdoq42 I'd like to see it, but I'm not expecting it. They're leaning into tradition, so mixing and matching elements beyond what was unveiled (at least in the near future) doesn't seem likely.

For anyone wondering, Ohio State won't have all-gray alternate uniforms as part of its new set. Just the standard (or core) home and road, all-black ("Tunnel Vision"), scarlet pants ("Scarlet Rush") and white pants ("Sub Zero") options.

But wait, there’s more! My idea is predicated on Ohio State installing turf that can be painted rather than have the design sewn in. The only thing permanent would be the state outline at midfield. That would allow the Buckeyes to use a gray background in the end zone:

I'm absolutely nitpicking, but my only issue – and this is more so an issue with Ohio State's brand/logo guidelines – is with the Block "O" on the base of the collar of the scarlet home and black alternate jerseys, which needs a white stroke between the letter and outline:

Give a round of applause to Ohio State's design team for finding a way to bring back the classic stripes while modernizing them with the metallic sheen. The Block "O" and festoon pattern also add subtle detail to a timeless design that the Buckeyes should never depart from again.

The festoon pattern pulled from the rotunda and towers of Ohio Stadium also appears on the inside of the back collar on both designs. Ohio State previously had seven Buckeye Leafs (2013-14) or "Buckeyes" (2015-25) on the outside of the back collar:

Just like the black alternate uniforms, the Block "O," B1G and Nike Swooshes on Ohio State's home and road designs feature a rubberized material instead of being sewn into the jersey and/or pants:
