Thank you @WFPChief for your leadership at @WFP. Our 30+ year partnership with World Vision matters and together, we reached nearly 8.7 million people last year. We continue to pray for your recovery, and will continue our shared mission to end hunger.

My thoughts are with dear colleagues and friends in #Japan, as news comes in of a powerful earthquake off the country's northern coast. Praying for safety for all those I've met during my visits to the country.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone – especially children – impacted by the devastating fire in Hong Kong's Tai Po district. We’re providing support through our local church partners. May comfort and strength be with all those grieving 🙏

It was an honour to hold talks with Commissioner @dubravkasuica at the European Union. She has been a vocal supporter of child participation. During my trip to Brussels this week, we spoke about our joint focus on children as the EU sets out its plans for the coming years.

World Vision is calling and praying for immediate peace, and lifesaving aid to reach the children of Gaza and those living in the most conflict affected areas of the world. The images of starving children anywhere in the world breaks the heart of God. No child should go hungry.🙏

Deeply saddened to hear about Pope Francis' death this morning. It was such an honour and a blessing to spend time with him recently. I will never forget his humility, and his unique insights into the immense challenges facing the world right now. 🙏

I'm thinking of and praying for all the children I've met in eastern #DRC as violence flares. Our hearts break for the tens of thousands of children in the city of Goma, and nearby camps, who face being forced again from their homes. We're doing all we can to bring hope.

I was deeply moved by @Pontifex's biblical reflection at the Vatican this morning. I was honoured to attend an audience and speak with His Holiness. Pope Francis spoke about Luke 1:26-29 – verses close to my heart. We replace fear with hope, in the name of Jesus.
