@Hockey_Robinson But this roster can be maintained next year, and they can move players off the books in the summer to afford another center. Not saying that center group is good, but with 2 superstar wings, a top 5 d core and a top 5 goalie tandem, you can get away with subpar centers

Getting to OT was worst case scenario for Canada. Yes, they have McDavid, Mackinnon, Celebrini, and Makar, but they controlled the game heavily in 5v5. As we saw in OT, the variance is way more drastic, which gave the Americans the chance they couldn’t generate the whole 3rd.
