Was it tiring to run in medieval armor? To answer this question, they had people run in ARMOR on treadmill CPETs! (Spoiler: yes, it’s tiring) The results illustrate one of my favorite concepts in exercise & comparative physiology: energetic cost of transportation (COT). 🧵 1/
