The iconic heist sequence in Jules Dassin's "Rififi" (1955) lasts more than half hour. The scene does not contain a single line of dialogue or music. But George Auric, the composer of the movie thought that it would be a disaster to have the scene without music.
Dassin told Auric he did not want music, Auric claimed he would "protect [him]. I'm going to write the music for the scene anyways, because you need to be protected".
Once the filming was finished, Dassin showed the film to Auric both with and without music. After seeing both the versions, Auric turned to Dassin and admitted, that the scene should be "Without the music".

“I read #Shakespeare directly I have finished writing. When my mind is agape and red-hot. Then it is astonishing...how amazing his stretch and speed and word coining power is” #VirginiaWoolf🤍

I leave a white and turbid wake; pale waters, paler cheeks, where’er I sail. The envious billows sidelong swell to whelm my track; let them; but first I pass.
