@Pinstripe_hype I don’t think they’re not letting him play. I just think they’re being overly cautious and doing all the rehab and strength and conditioning they can do so this doesn’t become an issue down the line.

@Keaton0613 @Pinstripe_hype there was nothing on it all winter and it randomly pops up a week into spring. there was tremendous hype to have him on the opening day roster. what better way to cool that down than to milk a minor injury

@mchads_ seems like he needs to develop a 4th pitch. if his slider or change up is off batters will just sit on his fastball. what that 4th pitch will be, who knows

Sanchez currently has the highest BABIP against (.411) in the majors. The majority of that is bad luck, but it also has to do with increased usage in the sinker, which has typically run high batting averages in the past, combined with a slight decrease in velocity (+ bad counts)

@OnPattison he doesn’t hold players accountable for anything. bonehead mistakes, poor ABs, lackluster performances on getaway days. he has made these players comfortable just being good. there’s a reason Mattingly got hired. he’ll be managing by July

@PhilaBCoulter I think the expectation should be 93-95 from here on out. he’s getting older and his fastball has gotten a touch slower. I feel like it would be unrealistic to expect him to maintain his velo after a major surgery and being a year older

Maintaining the 93-94 is probably a sign he’s going to only get to 95-96 this year, which is still going to be really good for him, but I doubt he touches 98-99 on the occasional heater until next season.

@SamJellinek the velo isn’t surprising. he has lost 1mph on his fastball every year the last couple years. he’s just gonna have to learn to pitch throwing 93-95
