@lila_epub @JamesPPoole I also edit audio every day, it sounds like this tool detects certain sounds and then the sound team went in and fixed it using the help of that tool. Not much different than something like the ducking or text based editing tools available in Premiere.

@NovaMCU @JamesPPoole The director has said no AI has been used for images in the film, he is quoted in the article. What I'm saying about the Respeecher tech is it seems similar to audio tools that have been around for a while that arent AI, and have just been rebranded as AI because of recent trends

@Andrew_Powers_ @JamesPPoole Have not yet seen how Respeecher, the company that worked on the dialogue, gathers their data. GenAI is not at the point where it can replace or even “edit” without a dataset. The actors fed their performance, but that would not be enough. The images used at the end are worse

Those tools like autocorrect etc. are not generating their info. based upon data from the internet or a subset from it- those are using complex algorithms that are tedious, genAI is not that. GenAI scrapes.

@PixelPoncho_ @FROGDOP @JamesPPoole A lot of sound editing tools are now labeled AI. I use Adobe software every day for work and some of their compression tools for dialogue are now labeled AI. And while these tools do utilize AI (they always have) it’s not the same as generative AI like Midjourney or others

I like the DC one because you can wait in line if you really care about where you sit (and if you don’t, you can show up later) without worrying about outrunning others.
