It seems like a bad idea to say "yeah I've been unemployed 3 years because I had a stroke" in a job interview, but I can't quite see a way around it.

@literally_chad @RifeTechnology As an occasional recruiter, I'd admire the honesty and openness in stating that you had time away from working whilst you recovered, and are now ready to return to work.

@RifeTechnology No accomodations, just as a reason for my resume gap. I'm pretty against saying negative things in interviews, but I suppose the gap is the negative, can't be navigated around, and it's a positive to have a good reason.

@pastasnack_e These places do exist, they're just expensive. Google "communal living". They're halls of residence for non-students, with added gyms and cinema rooms.

Lots of people's social & romantic lives could be vastly improved if it was normal for young adults to live in college dorm-style accommodation in city centres until they were ready to set up home properly. Why doesn't this exist? I think there would be a market for it!

And it’s not my job to pay your salary, it’s the job of your employer Can someone please explain the strange US 20–25% tipping culture? Many countries around the world don’t have tipping as a common practice. The business simply pays the salary. Why is it so different in the US?
