There is a massive fraud scheme happening and the Saudi eSports Federation isn't even batting an eye.
I played for @warresports in the Saudi eLeague 2024 Major 1 and 2. Our contract promised payment in late April, but we haven't received ANYTHING. Similar issue with Triple Esport: missing payments in December 2023: (which I still didnt receive)(x.com/anj_ow/status/…). Despite reaching out to the Saudi eSports Federation multiple times, we only get vague promises and no decisive action. Without mentioning names, I've seen some of my friends being directly affected by this. Expecting payment as mentioned in their contract, but never getting the money and therefore having heavy direct consequences on their life.
After gathering some info, over 50% of players have been mistreated, either by not getting paid but also many other violations of their respective contracts. This impacts not just me but also many others in the industry, hurting Saudi eLeagues' reliability and future appeal.
I understand there’s no control over what these organizations do with YOUR money, but why keep using this system? These organizations will not stop abusing it, and you're not doing anything about it.
It's time for a change. I'm speaking up not just for myself but for everyone affected and would like affected players to join in. I'm calling for the Saudi eSports Federation to take notice and act.
Saudi Arabia aims to be a hub for eSports, but a hold, scam, system abuse, fraud or simply violating contracts shows a lack of professionalism, which is key in this industry. The current system allows for abuse, leaving players and staff unpaid. I take this opportunity not just for me to get the money I deserve, but also to encourage other players/staff to speak up about how they were affected, mistreated, or not paid by these organizations during Saudi eLeague events or outside of Saudi eLeague events. Let's shine some light on the entire situation and hopefully, just hopefully, the Saudi eSports Federation or the Saudi eLeague team will respond and reimburse us.
Likes and/or retweets are much appreciated.
