@sid_lambert @alanshearer I saw him play and score even younger than that in 1988 when he was part of a Southampton squad who played at @westburyutd on the evening the floodlights were officially turned on.

It’s the anniversary of a spectacular solo goal for England U21 in Ireland, 1990. The scorer was a number 10 in long sleeves, with pace to burn, and a decent shot on him. This young lad @alanshearer might be one to watch, you know.
