I'm old enough to remember when polio ripped through the globe and put my six-year-old friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good. RFK Jr being tapped to lead HHS is a disgrace.

@MarinaPurkiss @londonneil The pandemic taught me that ... A chance for us all to look out for each other, follow really simple ways to help each other (for example nothing more complicated than standing away from someone else) but no, people are too selfish or stupid.

@wake_oliver Totally agree with this. It is for this reason that I even indicate when going round car parks, as there are pedestrians who need to know what you are doing.

Horrified to find there is a new feature, at night a car detects there are no cars oncoming or ahead and automatically goes full beam. I questioned the salesman (he was surprised at my questions) basically if you are a pedestrian or cyclist you can be dazzled and fuck off.
