Ohio State drops a road game to a short handed Washington squad. The Buckeyes are barely top-40 in the NET and have just one Q1 win. They’ll have chances to add more, but I have very little optimism. One of the most disappointing teams in the country. Bruce Thornton can’t do it all himself. Simple as that.

@RefObserver17 I’m really not trying to be snarky, but doesn’t a fair catch only protect you after you catch it? Isn’t a returner just always protected before they catch it? He never touched the ball so how does the fair catch play in this?

@AndyDaubenmire I don’t really care for your attitude. The reason returners FC is so they don’t get blown up. If you don’t signal FC, you are protected to catch the ball, but then can immediately be drilled, hence why so many FC. Take your attitude elsewhere pal.

Ultimately the returner is protected under a valid fair catch signal. I did not see if he made one, but assuming he did, I understand the penalty. Was more expressing I don’t believe any intent there and he was tripped by gunner
